Dr Julie Ainscough

Julie is Organist at Chilworth Benedictine Abbey, near Guildford. She is also visiting organ teacher at Hampton School and teaches piano and organ privately; a number of her pupils have attained Oxford and Cambridge organ scholarships. Julie studied piano, organ and composition at Trinity College of Music. Subsequently, she gained a Master’s Degree in Composition from Goldsmiths’ College, studied organ with David Sanger, and gained a Doctorate in Composition, with a supporting dissertation on Messiaen’s later organ cycles, from the University of Surrey. Julie has won prizes for composition at Trinity College and at the University of Surrey.
