Marsha

Marsha Burke

BA(Hons), PGCE, BMus (Hons)

After a 15 year career as a Secondary School art teacher, Marsha graduated from Glasgow University in 2023 with Piano as her main instrument, and is currently a freelance cover Organist for Sunday services in and around Ayrshire. While a student, she played for the weekday morning services at Glasgow University Memorial Chapel. Marsha’s interests extend to composition, sound art and experimental music.

Annette

Annette Butters

Annette is currently the Director of Music at St Mary's Parish Church Barnard Castle. Following a career as a musician in H.M. Forces she became a mature music student and then worked in musical related jobs. Annette took up the organ later in life. A highlight for her was to be invited to give a recital as part of the Phelps 50th anniversary concert series at Hexham Abbey. Annette runs a thriving community choir and orchestra based at St Mary's. Composing is a real love with projects on the go!

Laura

Laura Cahillane

Having trained as a pianist - and worked as an accompanist - Laura has been playing the organ for church services since taking up the instrument about 10 years ago, when her children were quite young. Laura is currently organist and choir director at a local village church; and is always looking for new opportunities as an organist or pianist/accompanist, to fit around her other commitments.

Morwenna

Morwenna Campbell-Smith

MA

Morwenna Campbell-Smith is Director of Music at St Mary’s, Frittenden, in the Weald of Kent. She was previously a choir director and rota organist around many churches in North London, having transitioned from pianist to organist as an adult. Her teachers include Gerdi Troskie and Frederick Stocken. Morwenna’s website, The Lady Organist (www.theladyorganist.com), has an international following, as does her Twitter feed (@theladyorganist). As a music journalist she has written for Organists’ Review, and she is Head of Publications for the Royal College of Organists, editing iRCO, the RCO's online learning campus, and RCO News magazine. Morwenna also writes StopPress, the RCO’s official blog.

Miriam

Miriam Carpinetti

Miriam is a composer, organist, and conductor. Ex Secretary and President of the Associação Brasileira de Organistas. Her master's thesis is on Organ idiomatic (UNICAMP). She published articles about Messiaen's musical language. Miriam is a professor at the Mozarteum Faculty of São Paulo. She was a finalist in the International Composition Competition for solo organ promoted by the RCO/Orgelbüchlein Project and has pieces published in The Orgelbüchlein Project.

Eleanor

Eleanor Carter

Eleanor is an organist based in Cambridge, where she is Senior Organ Scholar at Clare College. For the last two years, she has also played the organ for King's Voices, the mixed choir of King's College. Eleanor frequently gives recitals in Cambridge, and in other venues around the country. As well as accompanying evensong several times a week, Eleanor accompanies Clare College Choir on their busy international touring schedule and for their broadcasts, and has also played on the choir's most recent disc, 'O lux beata Trinitas'.

Tansy

Tansy Castledine

MA, MMus, FRCO, NPQSL, ARAM

Conductor, educator, and Director of Music at Peterborough Cathedral, Tansy is one of the UK’s leading women conductors, being at the forefront of the profession within church music. Having begun her career as an organist, Tansy still teaches the organ and enjoys accompanying, is a Trustee of the RSCM, serves on the Academic Board of the RCO, and regularly works abroad giving lectures and masterclasses. Tansy also enjoys reading crime novels and walking her cockapoo.

Iannandrea

Iannandrea Cecilia

Cecilia, born in 1995, is titular organist and Kapellmeister of Santa Maria Novella and San Marco in Florence. She fell in love with the organ at 15 and never stopped playing it. She performs concerts in Italy and abroad both as soloist and in ensemble, she recorded CDs for Brilliant, DaVinci classics, Bongiovanni.

Andreana

Andreana Chan

LRSM, BA (Hons)

Andreana is currently Assistant Organist at St Mary Magdalene Richmond, London, and a recent graduate of Pembroke College, Cambridge, where she was Organ Scholar. She is a regular recitalist and freelance organist based in London. She took up the organ because she loved how loud it was, and has never looked back since. Promoting the works of composers from under-represented groups is a cause close to her heart, and she is also passionate about the role of music in the community.

Hannah

Hannah Chan

BMus (Hons), MMus

Hannah is an organist based in Scotland. She studied the organ with Stuart Muir at St Paul's Cathedral, Dundee, followed by Henry Fairs and Daniel Moult at Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, graduating with an MMus with Distinction in 2015. She also studied at the University of Music and Performing Arts, Vienna, on exchange. Since returning home to Tayside, Hannah is the organist of Newport-on-Tay Church of Scotland and piano/organ tutor to Music Collective Scotland and High School of Dundee.

Suzy

Suzy Chappell

Suzy Chappell plays for Holy Cross Church, Birkenhead, Merseyside. She previously played for the Presbyterian Church in Hoylake, and St Luke's in Meols. She has a passion for organ music, and would stand in for resident organists on the piano until she was sponsored to attend an organ course in Liverpool. culminating at playing on the organ at the Anglican Cathedral. Suzy is a hard working and enthusiastic musician who has played for Cross Church for the past five years.

Chelsea

Chelsea Chen

MM, AD

Chelsea is a concert organist and composer known for her pieces based on Asian folksongs. She studied organ at The Juilliard School with John Weaver and Paul Jacobs, and later at Yale University with Thomas Murray. She performs frequently as a solo artist as well as a chamber musician in the United States, Europe and Asia. Her compositions are published by Wayne Leupold Editions. She currently resides with her husband in Zurich, Switzerland.
